I have a Keyboard that wont connect to my computer, why?

My keyboard is midy compatible (can Connect to the computer), when i plug it in my computer beeps to tell me that i plugged something in, but it doesn't recognize it, it says i have a unknown device plugged in, i have a Casio CTK-720 keyboard and windows 7.
